How to Create and Use Comment Tags

Tags are custom labels you can add to comments to help organize and make sense of the feedback you receive. Think of them like folders or sticky notes that help you group related comments, highlight important themes, or flag feedback that needs follow-up.

Tags are completely flexible, so you can create a system that works best for your school and team. Start with a few key tags and build from there as you review feedback and identify the topics that matter most to your community.

You can use tags across all of your survey modules, including Parent, Student, and Employee, making it easy to organize feedback consistently across your entire community. Using tags can help you:

  • Track trends over time by tagging recurring topics such as Homework, Program Suggestions, or School Events so you can easily identify patterns in your feedback.

  • Keep track of follow-ups by using an administrator or team member’s name as a tag to indicate who is handling a specific question, concern, or conversation.

  • Organize feedback by topic with tags such as Communication, Facilities, Curriculum, or Athletics to quickly group related comments together.

  • Support strategic planning by tagging feedback connected to larger initiatives, such as Strategic Plan Input, Enrollment Feedback, or other school priorities.

As you continue collecting feedback, tags make it easier to turn individual comments into meaningful themes and identify insights your team can act on.
