How to Enable Multilingual Surveys

Modified on Fri, 19 Dec at 12:35 PM

ParentPulse surveys don’t just speak English—they speak your community’s language. With our multilingual survey feature, families can take surveys and receive follow-up communication in the language they're most comfortable with. This helps you gather clearer, more authentic feedback from every corner of your community! Enabling multilingual surveys can help:

  • Support families who prefer to complete surveys in Spanish, Mandarin, Vietnamese, or another home language.

  • Increase response rates by removing language barriers for multilingual households.

  • Ensure follow-up messages (like replies or thank-yous) are delivered in the same language the family selected.

Survey Experience for Respondents

Once you’ve enabled additional languages, your surveys (both Pulse and Custom surveys) will include a language selector for respondents. Here’s what it looks like in action:

  • A respondent opens a survey and sees a language dropdown (located just below your school’s logo).

  • They select their preferred language.

  • The entire survey including questions, instructions, everything is immediately displayed in that language.

  • Respondents complete and submit the survey in their selected language.

How to View and Respond to Surveys in Another Language

After a respondent submits a survey in another language:

  • You’ll see their submission on the Comments page.

  • A language tag will appear next to their response so you know which language was used.

  • You can reply in English as usual and ParentPulse will automatically translate your message into the respondent’s selected language.

  • The respondent receives your translated message and can even reply in their language with the interface still localized for them.

  • Admins always view everything in English. Your respondents will see things in their chosen language. Everyone stays in sync!
