Impersonating Other Admin in ParentPulse
Overview
If you are the Primary Admin in ParentPulse, you have the ability to impersonate other admins that are part of your school’s account. This feature allows you to view ParentPulse exactly as another admin would, making it easier to troubleshoot issues, provide guidance, and ensure proper permissions are set.
Why Use the Impersonation Feature?
Troubleshoot Issues – If another admin is experiencing difficulties with their account, you can step into their view to identify the problem without needing to ask for screenshots or lengthy explanations.
Training & Support – Walk new admins through the platform by viewing ParentPulse from their perspective and guiding them through workflows.
Permission Management – Verify that admins have the correct access levels and make adjustments as needed.
Ensure Consistency – Check that surveys, messages, and settings appear correctly for all admins without exchanging emails back and forth.
How to Impersonate Another Admin
Log into ParentPulse.
Navigate to the Admins page.
Locate the list of admins in your account.
Click the Mask button next to the admin you wish to impersonate.
You will now be viewing ParentPulse as that admin. You will see their name, along with a red “Exit” button, in the upper righthand corner of the page to indicate that you are viewing another user’s account.
When finished, click Exit to return to your own account.
Important Notes
Only Primary Admins can use the impersonation feature.
While impersonating another admin, you can see exactly what they see, which means any actions taken (such as replying to comments or adjusting survey settings) will be permanent and will appear as that user.
Be sure to exit the other user’s account when you’re finished to avoid unintended actions.
