How do I update my parent contacts list?

Do I need to manually delete or deactivate old families before importing?

Nope! There's no need to make any changes to your existing contacts first. Simply upload your complete, updated parent list. After your import is complete, ParentPulse will give you the option to deactivate contacts who are no longer included.

Should I upload only the new families?

We recommend always importing your entire current parent list, not just new families. This allows ParentPulse to update existing contacts, add new families, and identify which contacts may need to be deactivated.

Will I lose previous survey responses if I deactivate a contact?

Not at all! Deactivating contacts prevents them from receiving future surveys, but their historical feedback remains intact. However, if you were to delete a contact, their historical survey data will be removed as well. This could impact longitudinal data points you'll use to compare data over time.

Can I update my parent list while a survey is active?

Absolutely! Just pause your active survey sequence before importing your updated list, then resume it once you're finished. 

What happens if I add new families during an active survey?

Newly added parents will automatically join your active survey's distribution schedule once the sequence is resumed. There's no need to restart your survey!
