How to Disguise Your Identity When Replying to Comments

One of the great benefits of ParentPulse is the ability to engage in meaningful dialogue with your community by directly responding to comments, including those from anonymous survey respondents. However, there may be situations where it’s more appropriate for your response to come from the school as a whole rather than from you as an individual administrator. ParentPulse offers a simple way to "disguise your identity" by replying as the school.

How to Disguise Your Identity

By default, when you respond to a comment, your name appears as the sender. However, if you'd prefer your response to be attributed to the school, follow these steps:

  1. Go to the Comments Tab
Navigate to the comment you'd like to reply to.

  2. Click "Reply"
Open the reply field to begin drafting your response.

  3. Look for the "Display Name" Option
Just below the message box, you'll see an option labeled "Display name in reply as."

  4. Toggle Between Your Name and the School's Name
Click the dropdown menu to choose whether the response should come from you personally or from the school.

  5. Send Your Reply
Once you've selected your school as the sender, finalize your message and click send. The recipient will see the reply as coming from the school, ensuring a professional and neutral tone.

When to Use This Feature

This feature is particularly useful when:

  • Addressing sensitive topics where a collective response is more appropriate.

  • Providing official school-wide information.

  • Ensuring consistency in communication across multiple administrators.

  • Encouraging constructive dialogue while maintaining neutrality.

By using this feature, you can engage with your school community in a way that best fits the context of each conversation.
